16 Awesomely Bad B-Horror-Movies I Love

I am happy to admit that B-Movies have a special place in my movie-fan heart. They are often badly titled, ridiculous and have the cheapest of special effects but with all that there is just something about them that I find irresistible!

There are tons of B-Movie sites on the web, they have developed such a cult following that B-Movies now have their own festivals and are being shown in theaters everywhere in special showings. In fact it’s almost a new style of film-making to shoot a movie too look like a B-Movie for the hope of a cult following and gaining a few good laughs. So I would think it’s safe to say that B-Movies are here to stay and continue to prove that even bad movies can be good. Here is a list of my all-time favorites.   • Slither – 2006 - slimy aliens, mutated husbands and a whole lot of funny
  • Killer Clowns From Outer Space – 1988 – Killer Clowns. I think that says it all.
  • Eight Legged Freaks – 2002 – A completely hilarious spider-monster movie.
  • Creepshow – 1982 – Short mini-horror spoofs in comic-book style.
  • Little Shop of Horrors - 1986 – I prefer the musical version with Rick Moranis
  • The St. Francisville Experiment - 2000- low budget “documentary” ghost hunt
  • Frogs – 1972 – arguably one of the worst (best?) horror films ever made
  • The Blob – 1958 - one of the most well-known b-movies ever made
  • The Evil Dead - 1981 – Bruce Campbell makes his debut -tons of fandom ensues
  • Ginger Snaps – 2000 - more indie than b-movie – and one of my favorites
  • Nightbreed - 1990 - Probably my favorite Clive Barker film
  • Black Sheep – 2006 – New Zealand over-run with mutant sheep = awesome
  • Dead Alive – 1992 – Before LOTR’s Peter Jacksons heart belonged to b-movies
  • She-Creature - 2001 – Mermaids are killer fun in this period-piece b-movie
  • Trick’r'Treat – 2008 - Before TrueBlood Anna Paquin was into werewolves
  • Cemetery Man – 1994 – Italian b-horror starring Rupert Everett as the hero
  • Night of the Comet – 1984 – TheĀ  Mall is the place to go when zombies attack
