Neato: Goth Red Riding Hood

Hmmmm, so I am not exactly sure how I feel about the news from iO9 that Amanda Seyfried is in talks to star in a new re-imaging of the Red Riding hood story as directed by former Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke. Obviously the idea of a goth take on the classic story sounds pretty cool and I am a fan of the big eyed Seyfried but I am slightly afraid that the Twilight reject Hardwicke might be a bit of a deal breaker.

There are so many classic fairy-tale type stories out there that are just dying for a re-telling in modern goth style like Red Riding hood. With the huge wave of remakes out there in Hollywood you would think that instead of remaking a movie they would put their lazy screen-writing talents to work on something a bit more interesting like that.

The story is set to be dark Gothic and possibly steamy claims Seyfried so I am egar to see a trailer to make inital opinions of the whole thing. David Johnson who wrote the screenplay for Orphan last year has signed on as screenwriter so that is another thing the project has in its favor. Stay tuned.
