Preview: (girl Powered) Sucker Punch
The folks over at my favorite website iO9 have posted some new pics of director/screenplay writer Zach Snyder’s, the amazing director of Watchmen, 300 and the 2004 Dawn of the Dead remake, new film Sucker Punch which is due out sometime next year. The film stars young actresses like Jamie Chung (as Amber!), Vanessa Hudgens (as Blondie), Jena Malone (as Rocket), Emily Browning (as Baby Doll) and Abbie Cornish (as Sweetpea).
The story basically is a full throttle version of Alice in Wonderland – with leather and machine guns. This bad-ass creation comes from the mind of a little girl (Baby Doll) who is hospitalized in a mental institution in the 1950′s. Baby Doll (Browning) creates this alternate reality for herself in order to cope with the coming fate of a lobotomy along with a group of girls in a similar situation with her in the institution. I gotta admit, sounds pretty awesome and hopefully even better than Sin City which I was also I fan of. Can’t wait to see where this goes!
